Womennovator Shweta Shalini is a social visionary who has gained a prominent position in society due to her exemplary work. After achieving engineering and management degree, she founded and successfully established two technology companies. During her extensive travel and citizen engagement, Shweta Shalini realized that India can’t become a developed country unless rural India is transformed. Her study of rural area and feedback from a local citizen helped her to come up detail vision of transforming the rural area. She put ahead a perspective that rural India can’t catch-up with urban areas in terms of development with various organizations and government departments working in insolation on different parameters. Presently, she is a part of an ambitious Village Social Transformation Mission where 1000 villages are pledged to be transformed in 1.5 years. It is chaired by the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis and partner corporates like TATA Foundation, Birla Foundation, Reliance Foundation, Mahindra Foundation, Jindal Foundation and others. She was the entrepreneur of the year in 2011. She was also awarded Digital Media Excellence Award 2017.
