Namita Banka

The woman who has immense optimism in her heart is the Womennovator Namita. She got married at an early age, whereby in 1999 her husband suffered from bankruptcy. This propelled her to open her own initiative in diamond jewelry trading business from her home in Surat, which is considered the diamond hub. Her husband always used to get transferred from city to city for business purpose. When they were shifted to Hyderabad, she started her own waste management business under the name ‘Banka Enterprises’. She found her true calling in human waste management. She was really keen to solve the problem of open defecation in our country. It’s her innate vision to make toilets in every house and also improve the sanitation condition in every house. This would in turn help in improving the poor health of women. As to talk about her education, she has pursued Home Science from Delhi University and her Post Graduation in diamond jewelry manufacturing from IDI Surat. She is also an active member of COWE, whereby she tries to communicate with all the members to spread awareness about the waste management methods.
