Womennovator Nandini explored a variety of enthusiastic things in life to work out as a professional, as she has the zeal and energy to be a successful one. She found her passion in cooking at a very early age. She always wanted her prepared dishes to reach even the under-privileged sections of the society as they are the ones who are deprived of the common luxuries. Being a daughter of a washerman (dhobi in Hindi), she knew how it feels like when even the basic necessities are not fulfilled. Along with her parents and 5 sisters, they used to live in 600 sq. ft. room with no proper roof. The core challenge that she faced was that she didn’t have any good cooking equipment. Moreover, procuring raw material to cook was a challenge in itself. Gradually, things changed for better and she started to participate in cookery contests. One fine day, she came around a cookery contest on Facebook by the name Lufthansa Cook & Fly Contest. It was an all over India Contest and the reward was that the winner will get free Europe trip & his/her signature dish will be served in-flight menu of Lufthansa Airlines. Winning this contest was the most remarkable turning point of her life. Her name was all over the Internet when she won this contest. She was the 3rd most googled person in India. She was awarded by Governor of Lucknow. She was made the Brand Ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Initiative by Government of U.P. Also, a road was constructed in her name. Today, she honorably works as a consultant chef for Cafés & Restaurants, and also appear on TV shows and conducts workshops.
