Womennovator Mansi Mehta is an undeterred voice that speaks boldly for the rights of women. Growing up in a society where her parents would always be asked to try for a boy child after they had two daughters, she along with her parents and sister witnessed a mentality that plagues society even today. However, she didn’t let herself to get down by this ideology and studied hard to become a teacher. However, she couldn’t help but witness the indiscrimination that women have been facing for a long time. At religious ceremonies, marriages and even when it came to performing traditional rituals they were usually performed only by males. It often made her confused and curious that why women were not treated equally. Gradually, as she came across the topics of gender discrimination, domestic violence, female feticides in newspapers, television and documentaries, she understood that it was a pandemic that required to be eradicated as soon as possible. Some incidents like when she came across a mentally retarded girl who was physically abused, and then a girl from slums who had no expectations and dreams from her life completely shook Mansi and compelled her to study the social problems at large. She started to pen down her ideas and thoughts in the form of poetry expressing about the rights, dreams, and plight of women. She initiated Kishhori Foundation where she strived to bring a social and intellectual change in 30 girls from nearby slums by teaching them life skills, human rights and motivate them to have big dreams in their lives. Her write-ups had education trends is the main focus covering issues concerning women, the modern concept of education, requirement of life skills, and the positivity that is required to live a happy life. She firmly believes that one can surely make a little difference, but together we all can make a lot of difference.
