I graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and additionally got certifications from NIIT in computers. Perahan Designs was conceptualised out of my deep interest in Fashion Design and some hours to spare. At that time it seemed to be just that, a good use of available time. However, as is said, God is the best of planners. In a unexpected twist of fate, I was widowed with three young children to take care of. Raising them as a single parent was not easy however my belief that challenges are given to the strongest to bring out their best, kept me going and it turned Perahan Designs into a full-time occupation and livelihood for me and my loving family. I have since that unfortunate time realized that there is no limit to what a woman can achieve with determination and persistence. A woman has the ability to change not just her destiny but change the world around them for good. I am blessed to have support from a number of great empowering women who extended their hands when I need them the most and that’s when I realised the importance of women who empower others.
